2GM 15 dies when I put it in Fwd

I need help!!! I crank up the 2GM15 let her come to operating temp. I idel up to around 900 and slip her into gear and it stalls out unless I goose the fuel. This is a problem. I don't have this problem in REV. But I cant operate a 8 thousand pound boat in swift currents, In close quarters. Is there something that can be don to fix this problem? Is this a problem with the C&C30 MK1 of centered shaft and engine alignment?
The prop is clean.
The Transmission turns by hand.
There is oil in the transmission.

Help...

Single lever or dual lever controls? Electric or cable engine stop control?

900 RPM is close to minimum for idle. Try screwing the idle stop up to get it to idle at 950 or 1000 RPM when warmed up. It won't lunch the gearbox to put it into gear at those RPM.

Re: 2GM 15 dies when I put it in Fwd

simple fwd and rev cable on the transmission.
Simple push pull cable on the throttle.

I can put it into rev " No- Problem" Tied to the dock "under a load I can bring the rpm's up over 2000 I then idle it down to 9000 take in into neutral. Then I move it into Forward and it starts to stall out. I have to give it lots of fuel to keep it from stalling.

In fact I marked the levers position just to keep it from stalling when forward gear, Then I took it out of gear and ran the throttle back up to that position and it was 1900-2200 rpms? I'am at a loss...

Well it certainly should not need that much fuel to turn in gear at idle. Is there any possibility that the prop moves forward on the shaft spline or shaft moves forward under load and is binding somewhere?
Can it make somewhere close to maximum RPM at full throttle.? When it is under forward load does the rear gearbox thrust bearing, shaft seal or stuffing box get hot? You may have to run it for a while to note that.

Can you put your hands on the prop shaft and spin it easily in both directions with the engine off and in neutral? Did this problem just start or is it something that has gotten worse over time?

I ran it under a load in FWD at the dock yesterday for maybe 20 min @ 2000 rpm's. I then shut it down. I checked to make sure the stuffing box was dripping for lubeercant. I then check shaft movement in netural. It dose move freely without ristriction foward and reverse. I can here the folding prop go "clunk" as I turn it, so I know the blades are opening. I'm not sure what to check next.

Itís been Getting harder and harder. When I first got the boat, Last February, we noticed that it was a pain in the &*^% but we learned to use it. Last month we blue the external oil line and had to change it out. After that, it has become so bad that it makes tight quarter maneuvering very risky.
