Autohelm 3000 Remote Pin Connections

Hello all

I need to know the wire color asignments for the REMOTE port on an Autohelm 3000 (Z073). The wires I ned to connect to the REMOTE port are blue, green, red and ground (shield) but I need to know which pin each wire connects to. Inside the Autohelm the pins are numbered 1-4 OR they can be referenced from the "notch". It a,so appears the red wire might not even be used.

The Autohelm is model AH3000 and it uses NEMA 0183. Specifically I want to wire in a Radio Navigation Interface (Z075) which plugs into the REMOTE port. The plug is missing from the Z075 and so I need to know which wire from the Z075 goes to which pin on the AH3000 REMOTE port.

Can anyone help me? Can you suggest who might help me?

THANKS

Re: Autohelm 3000 Remote Pin Connections

There are quite a few AH3000 questions on this Google link - Google link

or here Google

Is it the round plug connector or the "oval/square" type connector? I have the connection diagram for the round plug.

This is the connection for the AH1000 andAH2000, looking from the back, top connection is Black and Screen - -ve, left connection is Yellow - Seatalk, and right is Red - +ve.
It is also the same connection layout for the AH3000, as I changed my AH3000 control head for an ST3000 control head, and is the same connections for the oval/square connector.

Any help??

Is this drawing of use?

Re: Autohelm 3000 Remote Pin Connections

Thanks again Philip.

The picture you posted is my exact unit. The REMOTE port I need to access is second from the right. I took my unit apart to try and see the wire colours but inside is a simple grey ribbon cable, no indication of colours. Too bad!

I still think my only chance into find someone with a remote unit which will fit this Autohelm unit, who will undo the cable end and relay the wire colours with reference to the notch. It is simple and will not damage the cable in any way, but will reveal the pin assignments. Perhaps I will find a remote online and buy it?

Thanks again

Looking at the front of the plug with the notch at 12 oclock, going clockwise;
Green
Red
shield
Blue

This is for the remote. I believe that the Nav interface is different.
