You may want to consider a newer regulator such as a Balmar. These were odd systems with some glitchy behavior. When Heart Interface bought them they made some slight changes but they still are rather glitchy. I replace quite a few HI and CE regs (just replaced a CE Alpha last week) but they usually just go right into the dumpster. There is a reason Xantrex now has Balmar build their regulators and why they dumped the old CE/HI stuff that they bought....

You don't need the regulator portion to keep the battery monitor portion working, if it still does.... Next time I replace one I will keep some parts but they are usually so dead that it is not worth keeping anything.
