Earth leakage ???

Was using my 240 volt soldering iron on cable attached to my dock box power point.
I was surprised to see when I started soldering on my 12 volt dc system I got sparks
Am I right to suspect an earth leakage on the marinas 240 volt supply

Think it was on the positive side of the dc
