Rick, If your Yanmar is like mine it should be running around 120f.
If it gets to 150 you should shut it down or you will melt that plastic container that the water go thru right after it comes out of the engine before it go thru the exhaust hose, been there done that.

When I replaced it with the new one it had warning stickers all over it not to let it get that hot, said would melt at 150f.

Mine is a Yanmar 3MGD 20h. raw water intake. Mine runs around 120f even if it been running all day.

How loud is it? ...it depends on who you ask. I'm almost totally deaf, so I think it is quiet as hell. My wife, on the other hand...

Best Regards,

Almost off topic - sorry, I wear hearing aids in both ears and could not resist.

---------------

A man goes to his doctor and says he thinks his wife is loosing her hearing and that it has been getting worse the past year. He asks if there is any test he can do to see if she is loosing her hearing?

The doctor says to go in another room and ask his wife a question in a normal voice and if she does not answer go half way and ask again. When she answers, he'll have a pretty good idea as to how bad the loss is.

So he is at home and goes into the living room and says

"Dear, what's for supper?" No response so he goes in the hallway and says
"Dear, what's for supper?" No response so he goes in the dining room and says
"Dear, what's for supper?" No response so he goes right beside her and says,
"Dear, what's for supper?"

She looks at him and smiles and says, "For the fourth time, salmon."
