LED Spreader lights, practical? brands?

Hi Folks
Need some advice , I need to replace my spreader lites ,mast is off so easy access. The boat is 43' cc morgan . I'm very interested in using LEDs. Several brands to choose from and what light output should I be looking for to achieve a good result in lighting the deck? thanks john

I have no first hand experience with them (yet). However, here is a reviewer's blog on this topic. Panbo: The Marine Electronics Weblog: OceanLED & Lumitec, better spreader lights I trust Ben (the author) on this.

When we had the mast rebuilt a couple years ago, we went with new Pyramids. What a great decision! I love the light output, the spread at deck level on our boat is just right. They are brighter than any of my neighbors on the dock. The advantages of much lower amp draw extend to the wire size, you can use much smaller wire, and up the mast is a long run, so the savings help pay for the extra cost of the lights.
