So we are installing a blade fuse panel. I got it in position and along with some other components and then happened to look at the instructions for the blade fuse block. Shouldn't of done that! It says I need a 150 amp fuse max size for the fuse panel. OK I looked at them in the store and there is a lot of different sizes of fuses. Should I just put in the max size or how can I tell what my needs are?
Maybe I missed it somewhere in this thread but how is that box ventilated? Batteries are required to be ventilated. That includes AGM and Gel cells. Otherwise that box becomes a bomb waiting for a spark. That is also why none of the electrical equipment should be in the box with the batteries.
There is a vent but it only about the size of my finger.
I will make a larger one.
Also the wood covers fit loosely and there are just cushion's on top. Not good for the cushion's I suppose.
It is not a sealed box.
Thanks for the incite.
Any opening will do. Hydrogen dissipates extremely fast. But better safe than sorry. However, there are other vapors from batteries that are acidic. Probably not good for the fabric.
