Old Furuno radar, new screen?

I have a mid 80s Furuno model 1720 that is operational. Is there an option for a new and/or LED screen that would plug and play but take up less counter space than the original? (the original looks like a prop from the set of the six million dollar man)

Mahalo!

No - All newer displays are manufacturer specific to the radar and the radars are now digital not analog.

.... and to take that - NO - even a step further, even Within the Same Manufacturer they are probably not compatible. I am in the process of replacing my 12 year old B+W Raymarine Radar screen (barely visible and almost useless) with a new model and found out I needed to Also Replace the Radar unit because back in 04 or 05 I think (had to check serial #'s) they ceased to be compatible. The cable WAS compatible ..... BUT, because the new scanner's internal cable attachment required over a foot of extra cable which I couldn't stretch/straighten/reroute to fit I still need another cable it became twice as expensive as I originally thought

Is the tube just worn out and dull?, if the CRT unit inside the scanner is a common generic tube (likely) there are options. Probably more expensive than just replacing the whole system though, I've never had need to look into them but it's certainly possible.
