sis, it would probably help if you posted a link to a picture, and said what kind of boat. If it is a bulkhead connector, the answer may be to remove it but if the wire runs through, you may be able to repair it from below. If you can't see the underside of the wires from inside the cabin of the boat, there's probably a "headliner" on the overhead of the cabin (it isn't a "ceiling" on a boat) and that may have to be partially removed to access the wiring.
