As some one who has done business with Bruce (and I've had him come sail with me a couple of times, too), he is a true professional and a real stand-up guy.

Agreed, now that I've actually had communications with him.

Since I already knew who he was, I guess I sorta figured that doing business with his company would be sorta like "Betty Crocker" (who never existed, iirc) or "Ford Motor Company."

If I go to the Ford dealership, I don't expect to see Henry Ford, y'know what I mean? (And yes, I know Henry Ford is dead, but the analogy is there regardless.)

But again, for the record - having communicated with him now, his professionalism and knowledge really impressed me. Look forward to doing business with him.

Peace,

6P

Well that is a bit more pricey than I remembered. FWIW, I spoke with Mike Hennessy this morning, who owns Dragon, a Class 40. He had just installed the "cheaper" version of this and so far is very enthusiastic about it. He said it was putting out 25 amps easy. With the high price, at this point it's only a solution for specialized situations it seems to me.

Specialized situations is the key phrase there. Seems to me that this thing was developed for racers and for passage oriented cruisers. However, for my future cruising plans, I'll be spending way too much time at anchor to justify the cost of this unit.

That said, this unit does seem to me to be the cat's pajamas if one is intending to be moving a lot. It would be a dream on overnight passages where solar obviously is no help, you could still greet the day with fully charged house batteries.

Still though...even though I have to (for now at any rate) file it under "too rich for my blood", it is something I'd definitely have on my dream boat.
