Volvo MD7A Alternator Wiring

I have a 1977 MD7A with alternator issues. The alternator is working and on the test bench they say puts out 14Vdc. When in the boat the batteries don't charge. There have been significant modifications to the wiring since the boat has had 7 previous owners.

Is there anyone out there who knows what the wiring should be.

The B+ connection is connected to the starter motor battery positive.
The D- connection is connected to ground
The DF and the B- connections are the ones in question ...

Does anyone know where they should go?

Thanks for any help ... Martin
