Beneteau Quick Windlass problem

The Quick "drum" windlass on my 08 Beneteau 46 stop working. The breaker switch went to the tripped position and when engine is running the breaker switch cannot be moved to the "up" position. the breaker switch however can be moved up while the the engine is off. Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

Could be a few things:

electrical connections - check them all, take them apart even if they "look" good from the surface, clean and reattach

frozen windlass - when was the last time you serviced the windlass?

bad breaker - replace it
