Raymarine Evolution Autopilot

Hey,

Anyone know anything about the new Raymarine Evolution wheel pilot? This is a 'new' autopilot and replaces the SPX-5 (I think).

The 'new' boat I'm considering doesn't have an autopilot and I really want one. Comments? The 'new' boat has a Garmin 740S w/nmea2000 network. I believe the Evolution pilot is also nmea 2000 so the integration should be a snap, right?

Thanks,
Barry

NMEA 2000 should make it a snap yes, but often there are proprietary features if you stay with the same vendors.

BarryL,
Earlier today I posted a similar question about the 740S and requested suggestions for autopilots. Have you learned anything about the Garmin 740S /Evolution combination?

Re: Raymarine Evolution Autopilot

I spoke to a boatyard. They said the combo should work.
