Raymarine vs. Simrad for Autopilo

Hi Folks --

I am going to be installing an autopilot on my Peterson Formosa 46 this summer. I will be using an Octopus linear drive, but I am debating between the Simrad AP24 and associated corepack and compass, and the new Raymarine EV400 system. I am particularly curious as to which system has a better program for learning the steering characteristics of the boat, thereby reducing the amount of work for the drive. The boat weighs about 30,000 lbs. and will be used for long-distance cruising but no racing. I would greatly appreciate any input from folks with experience with either of these systems, or anyone with experience with other similar Raymarine or Simrad autopilots.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and replies.

Cheers
