VHF Remote Control

Hi,

I'm about to install a SH RAM3 VHF remote control unit in my Pearson 28, and trying to figure out the best location for it near the helm. The pedestal is too narrow, so the most convenient location is unfortunately not an option..

Your advice would be greatly appreciated (especially if you have a similar situation)
Thanks,

Amir

Re: VHF Remote Control

The best location is where it is easily accessible while at the helm, not in the way when not in use and...hopefully, easy to run the wire from the RAM to the radio.

Re: VHF Remote Control

Below the seat, just to the side of the pedestal. Good because no one sits there because of the wheel but it can snag feet as you squeeze by. On the front side of pedestal. If tubes are too narrow, then wire-tie cable to the guard on outside. Agree with other poster: convenient to access from helm. Move it around, dry place it to see what works best.
