It looks like a MOSFET indeed. But replacing it with the correct one might be tough. Those controllers are all over the place and getting to one that isn't burned should be easy. If there's a boat refrigeration place in the area you might get a broken discard unit from them. My boat current boat doesn't use Danfoss controllers, unfortunately.

and is a LOGIC LEVEL mosfet IRLZ44NS
