Hong Kong GPS

There are a number of very cheap GPS systems on ebay available from Hong Kong. Has anyone bought one of these? If so, does it work, is it worth the money, will it work with chart software or are they total rubbish?

They might work for a while, and longer eventually. Depending on how you plan to use it, that could be nice unities. For planning or training, that's cool. I'd never use it in replacement of my main unity, not even as a backup.

You may have some issues with getting your software to recognize a USB GPS, which can be solved with something like Franson GPSgate if a virtual com port driver doesn't come with the GPS.

From China??

I would be much more concerned with sending money in any form to China, than the quality of what I would/might receive.
