Is a transducer a transducer?

I have an existing transducer with Ray Jefferson on it with a shielded black and white wire and a ground. I would like to connect it to a Apelco Fishfinder that has a 7 pin connector. Are all transducers basically the same and is this possible???
Thanks
Tom

Tragically, no. Various transducers have different center (operating) frequencies, They can have different wiring schemes, some are self-powered and some are not. Some are grounded and some aren't. The chances are that your transducer will not work with the Fishfinder.

Sorry, and

Best Regards,

Well...maybe.

Most of the "transducers" for marine depthsounders and "fish finders" are actually made by the same company, Airmar. Here is a link to their cross reference page, it may help. AIRMAR Cross-Reference Interface
