Advice on handheld VHF radios

I'm a Standard Horizon fan. I replaced mine just for the gadgets of new unities and smaller size. My previous still works fine after 12 years.

my icom allows you to select what ever channels you want to scan, or not scan. its water proof and floats as well as has a optional battery tray that takes AA batteries.

iirc it cost about 160 and the AA battery thing is about 25 more, but west marine puts it on sale with the AA thing free
