MMSI How to get it on internet

My sailboat is registered in London, England. How do I apply for an MMSI number? Can I do it through internet?
Any suggestion will be appreciated
Cheers,
Fabio

The MMSI numbers that are issued by Boat US are for U.S. boats that stay in U.S waters only.

USBOAT will not do. They can issue MMSI only to US registered boats. Any suggestion for a British registered vessel?

Things have changed in the past couple of years. I got my MMSI online at OFCOM Licensing (my boat is UK registered and has DSC, SSB & EPIRB)
