This is the best piece of advice you will get. You're glass makes all the difference. I laugh when I see people with top of the line DSLR's with a kit lens stuck on the front...

Canon vs. Nikon? Go to a camera store and hold different models to make the decision, there is no way to choose based on what people say because everyone with an opinion is biased. Someone once told me they bought a Nikon because "thats what they use in CSI"

A D200 will have the same ruggedness with rather poor low light performance, but a much more agreeable price on the used market.

You didn't hear? Nikon has added the melodramatic "flashback" option to all its new cameras. Relive those hilarious and tragic moments just before you pushed the shutter!
