Raymarine DSM300 question

Replacing all the electronics this winter, new E80 system pak, ST60 plus pak, HD radar, etc.. the E80 pak came with a DSM300 module, transducer sold seperately. My qusetion is can I use the supplied ST60 depth transducer and supplied ST60 speed transducer for (temp) via the DSM300 module to get the DSM to function? The ST60 depth reads to 600feet vs. buying a DSM300 specific transducer to 14 or 1600 feet, I forget. Trying to eliminate another hole in the hull. Or can I buy the DSM specific transducer and tie that into my ST60 depth instrument? OR do I need the DSM300 at all? how many of you sailors have and or use a DepthSounderModule (fishfinder)? thanks

Forget the DSM300, the depth information will be on the SeaTalk bus from the ST60 system. Unless you fish, you not use the information the DSM300 provides.
