Raymarine C120 Chartplotter - Wrong Date

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to reset the date on a Raymarine C120 E Chartplotter? I'm currently sailing with a friend on his Seawind 1140 Catamaran from Lakes Entrance in Victoria to Sydney. We were looking up tide data on the chartplotter and noticed just in time that it had defaulted to 2 October 2008 as the "current" date. We can manually edit the date to get the (apparently correct) tide data but if we press the "today" button, it goes back to 2 October 2008 again.

Been right through the manual, the menu options and done a google search, but haven't turned up anything useful except a blog entry for someone sailing in the Atlantic complaining his C120 had the date out by 2 days.

How do I reset it?

Cheers,

Rob Hills

Rob, if you did the standard config on System Settings and not able to set Date/Time; if you have the latest SW release for your plotter; then you should ask Raymarine as this is not an usual SW bug ....

I had a similar problem on my Garmin 3210 (current date defaulted to Jan 1, 1990). Tech support said to do a master reset and that solved the problem. I have no idea if this would work for you or not but you might try running the idea past Ray's tech support if you can reach them. You will lose all of your waypoints etc. unless you save them on a data card. Good luck.

My friend bought the boat new and had the C120 supplied with it. I'd hoped there would be a menu option somewhere that we'd overlooked. He's not keen on the idea of resetting things, especially as he's currently got the track of the first 1/4 of his planned circumnavigation of Australia in it that he'd rather not lose. If we find a solution, I'll post it up.
