SSB antenna ground

Hello,

Im using coppertape with adhersve on one side for the antenna ground.
The sticky side has no cunductivety and when i tape on layer of tape on top of the other there is no connection between them when beeping htem with the multimeter.

will this degrade my RF signal or will i have enogh capacitive conduction if the overlap is long enough.

could this also worck as a DC blocker to get rid of leak current

For pictures and more on my trip and SSB instalation check my site which i canīt link to before I have two posts belzebub2.com

I just finished installing a ICOM M802 in the new boat. I used to be a fan of copper foil to a thru hull, but on this one I decided to try something different. I've gone away from copper altogether and used a KISS-SSB counterpoise system. I did it because of two reasons. Firstly, the KISS was given to me so it was free. And secondly, I really wanted to try out something new and see how well it works.

I have to say, I was something of a skeptic when I did the install. I figured something this simple to put in would never work. I have to say, it does do as advertised. The tuner never takes longer than a couple of seconds to load and signal reports are great.

Some trash it for it's "over-priced" simplicity, but as far as I'm concerned it could be a tube full of used kitty litter. I agree with windward54, the KISS SSB Counterpoise is a great product and works as advertised.

You will have to make a low resistance connection between the cuppertapes. At best by soldering them.
I am using standard soldering tinn and 80 Watt soldering iron.
Not such for electronics with e.g. less than 40 Watt.

DC blocker are build with a condensator of >1000 nF, your cuppertape to cuppertape capacity might have 0,001 nF.

Some meters of cuppertape are not sufficient - and cupper is expensive.
You might solder cuppertape and aluminium foils using special acid liquids and specific soldering tinn for the HF Ground.

And achieve some squaremeter of grounding plate.
