scud is on a distinguished road
Raymarine C70 and E80 sharing same radar

the plan is simply outlined. Install the smaller C70 on the pedestal or close to and leave the E80 belowdeck.

But I'd like (in emergencies) to be capable of running the radar from the C70 while customarily I would be running it from the E80. Sometime in 'solo' sailing you have got to hang to the wheel and cannot afford to go belowdeck evenjust for a quick check.

The answer is easy ... buy another E80 and interconnect, but it is $$$ and that thing is a real power hog compared to C70 and it is also fairly bigger.

Can I make a junction box with two radar cables? so i can swith the radar from E80 to C70 simply by sgutting down both, switching and turning the C70 back on?

Looking forward to your suggestions

Scud

You could use a large multi-pin male plug for the radome and put matching female plugs on the cables going to the two displays and power down the equipment to switch the connector from one to the other, but I'd be leery of doing that.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
