Another M710 Programming question
Icom M710 Marine SSB
I have the Icom M710 SSB transceiver. There are two versions, ham and marine and marine only. I have the older marine only.
I have everything needed to program it for the ham radio bands. I am a licensed ham radio operator. The programming ex1726 lists 5 possible options. The radio seems set for #1 USA General which does not get the ham transmit radio bands.
The options are
#1 USA General
#2 USA Marine
#3 USA GMDSS
#11 Europe Marine
#12 Europe GMDSS
The program is a DOS program and I have an Windows 98 computer that will be used for it. I have the programming cord and the program. Does anyone have any information on which version will give me all the Ham transmit frequencies?
I looked on this and other boat and ham forums and found good information, but still need more information as to which version gives the ham transmit frequencies. I am aware that newer versions of this radio have the ham bands out of the box. The older version (which I have) has two versions which are programmable.
Has anyone programmed it with the right version? What version do I set it for? # 1, #2, #3, #11, # 12 ?
I see references to an 'expert' mode...how does does one get to that menu to program the radio manually? Is the expert mode available in the ex1726 program? I tried to change the transmit frequencies to ham manually with the program and it would not allow me to.
I notice that new radios being sold there are references to a version 21, yet the ex 1726 program does not have the version 21. I could send the radio out to be professionally modified. But with costs and shipping, I can do it myself.
I have the program, cord and DOS computer I just need to know which version to use/and or point me in the right direction. I have everything I need except where to go from here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
