Garmin power cable
I have an old Garmin 172C chartplotter..... It works just fine when I connect 12V DC to it directly (with alligator clips), and I've confirmed that the juice makes it to the end of the cable (confirmed with a multimeter). The problem, apparently, is in the interface between the end of the power cable and the Garmin itself.... I'd like to keep the old bugger, as I have new electronic charts for it.... and I'd also like it to work....
Anyone else have this problem? Is this just a power cable problem? Swap it out and the problem's gone? The sailor with the correct answer gets a lifetime supply of Rice-a-Roni!
