USGLOBALSAT BU-353 with Maptech Navigator lite?

Has anyone used these inexpensive gps modules with a pc running Maptech's Navigator Lite?

The prices seem too good to be true. Do they work?

I've used one a limited amount of time. It seemed to work fine, antenna up near porthole at Nav station.

I was using it with the MacENC software.

I've used a Delorme USB GPS unit with Navigator Lite successfully. However when I upgraded to a new laptop running Win7 64 bit, I was out of luck as Delorme didn't have a 64 bit driver. The BU-353 does so I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Basically Navigator Lite wants the GPS connected to an old serial port and the driver does the necessary conversion from the USB port to make it work.

Yes, works fine. W7 Home Premium, 64 bit. Also works on my old XP.

I successfully used a BU-353 with Maptech Offshore Navigator. Win XP

I am now using it with OpenCPN Win 7 Starter. No problem after using a utility called Xport.

Same setup here. I really like OpenCPN.
