Raymarine autopilot, connections?

I have a Raymarine autopilot, 1999 vintage. It has a 300 series course computer. This has a lot of places to connect wires, with small tabs to make the connection. Does anyone know, do you pull up on the tab to open them to insert the wire? Or push down, pull forward, or ? I have the documentation, but it doesn't really say in there. Nothing moves easily, and I'm reluctant to get a bigger hammer.
Thanks
El sapo

push

All similar connections that I am familiar with are the push down to open type. Getting hold of something to pull in such tight spaces would be very difficult.
