Minnewaska will become famous soon enough
That's a little like asking for advice on someone's favorite beer. All the newest digital systems are probably fine. What you display it on is where it will get more complicated and opinionated. Do you already have a chartplotter? If so, that may limit your choices. 2kw v 4 kw is another debate. I see little value in the extra cost of a 4kw for recreational sailing. You want it mounted as high as practical, which will depend on how meaningful the weight may be on your paricular mast or whether you prefer a pole or bridge.

A little more detail on what you have or are looking to do would get better feedback.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

It depends on where you are sailing and how long your cruises are going to be.

We are planning on extended, so I have put together a priority list for upgrades we are doing. Our boat is already set up nicely and has done a lot of blue water in her past, so this list is minimal. Adjust to your own thoughts.

Chart plotter
Shortwave (Ham if you have a license) with fax
Solar panels with adequate inverter (2500 watts or so)
Radar
Refrigeration
Autopilot
Ice maker for cocktails (optional)

There are a lot more, but this is my short list.

I have a USB GPS puck that I use OpenCPN with on a laptop at the nav station, and have the computer networked so that other computers can access it. We have an older cold plate system that I am upgrading so that we can store what we catch and freeze what leftovers we have.

Again it depends on where you are going, how long you will be out, and what you already have.

1969 Crealock/Columbia 36 Sloop completely refitted in 2000 and new Yanmar in 2006.
Hey, if I can't be sailing at least I can be here!

I would look at consumption as one of the main choice criteria. Most of them if not all has Marpa. Don'y buy one without it, it is pretty much indispensable..
