autohelm 4000 gives only biep biep

problem with autopikot autohelm 4000+

i forget to switch off the unit from standby, and after 1 week the batteries where empty. (stupid man)
but after recharge batteries, the unit give only biep , biep.

check already the voltage on the back of instrument, and that's ok
Somebody any suggestion what to do?

It sounds to me that you still have the auto-pilot on. The beep-beep is the off course alarm. hit the standby button. or cycle it on and off at the breaker.

Does the screen power up or do you only get the beep?

I just came from the boat and after switching on, the displays gives standy and compass heading, but still the same biep biep.

Try disconnecting all wires from the back of the control head except the two power wires. If the beep, beep continues, you probably have a serious fault in the electronics of the control head.

Mine was doing that recently, I completely disconnected the unit and made up a power supply cable about 2 feet long to connect the head directly to the battery. Once it cycled I was able to put it back a the helm and it powers up fine now. Unfortunately I get the low battery warning one minute after switching to auto. I wish you better luck than I am having, Autopilot would be nice for solo-sailing.
