Tacktick Instruments

Any comments about the installation and/or useage of tacktick instruments specifically the entry level wireless depth system which includes the transmitter, display and transducer?

you may want to hold off, as TackTick was just purchased by Raytheon...untill the dust settles on just what they will do with them, other than raise prices.

I was an early user, and was very disappointed with the quality and service. Displays fogged, quit, batteries died and the vendor said tough - buy a new one. It is MUCH better the past couple of years, so I am told.

The entry level gear has some quirks as far as connectivity is concerned, so if you are racing and want 100% availability of readouts, you will not be happy. Transducer is still a transducer.

I have had the T104 set for a few years now with no issues other than the wind losing a signal in one area so I think there must ber some an issue with interference from something local (Swan Creek on the Chesapeake)

The install was as easy as could be. the wireless remote is my favorite part of the system.

I am looking at a new depth / speed - maybe the Clipper Duet Instrument Depth Speed Log w/Transducer - CL-DS and I too would like comments. I see they are sold through the Sailnet store and will support that if the product is good.
