Garmin 3206 split screen ques.

I have a new old stock 3206 and am having a problem with the split screen feature. It comes up with fine on the highlighted left side but on the right side it shows the whole United States and I can't figure out how to alter it to zoom in. Ideally I'd want to see a closeup on one side and further out (say 1/2 mile)on the other. Eventually I'll add radar for the split.

And yes I did read the manual.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brian

I have a 3006 which may be somewhat similar. On the the 3006 you need to toggle between the left and right sides of the slit screen to use most controls whether it is charts or radar. The zoom in and out functions will operate on the side that is active. Unfortunately I typically don't use the split screen at all and don't recall how to toggle between the sides. Might be the function button?

I have a 3210 and I remember having a similar problem. I eventually figured it out, but of course now I can't remember what I did. Someone will probably have an answer for you shortly, but if I get a chance to go to the boat today I'll see if I can play with it.
