Smile Raymarine E140W Questions

Hello Fellow Sailors:

Has anyone installed an E140W Chartplotter yet. This new unit is touch screen. I am considering removing my E120 and E80 along with my radar dome and retrofitting with the new digital touch screen equipment. Does anyone know if I will need new cabling for the digital radar.

I looked at the Garmin and love it but I will have to completely rewire the boat and it seems like a giant job. I may be swayed to do the job if the Raymarine equipment isn't as good as the Garmin.

Big Moe

The cbling would need to be changed regardless of the MFD display you use because of changing from Digital to Analog.

As to the E-wides...They are awesome. I loved the E120's that I had for several years. Last year I replaced a dual set up with the E-wides and they are amazing. Brighter and clearer screen for starters. Easier to use. Data input uses a touch keypad (like the IPad) which is much better than the twist n click of the E classic series.
