Icom 802 Rebuild Required

Okay I have an Icom 802 HF radio, back in 2008 after a nearby lightning strike I lost the Higher frequencies this was repaired in Fiji by cutting the boards where needed and jumping new relays in place. Earlier this year it failed again and this time was sent to ICOM Australia where the offer to rebuild was more than a whole new set.

What I am after is if anyone knows where you can get new boards at a reasonable price, there are three in the unit but I only need the first 2 but if getting 2 then I might as well replace the lot.

Thats a tough one.

You can lurk on Ebay or similar sites hoping to find someone parting out an 802, but that doesnt happen that often. My other suggestion would be taking a look at dxzone.com or similar Ham sites for Ham operators that do repair or even posting your same question there. A lot of the guys over at dxzone and alike are at the level of obsession that they dedicate a garage to just parts. You might get lucky that way.

likely not worth the cost to rebuild unless you can do it yourself or get free labor, especially when you compare another decade of use in a new unit. Labor alone will be near the value, and since the original was cut, the repair may not be as simple as state side labor will be used to or will work on. Many repair depots will not touch a unit, where the traces or boards are cut. Plus any boards you find will be "old" ones
