Raymarine/Autohelm ST front cover needed

Hello,

I have an old Raymarine/Autohelm ST30 knotmeter with a damaged case. The damage is to the screw posts in the 4 corners of the front cover of the instrument. The screws for opening the case pass through the back into these posts in the front cover. Three of the posts are cracked, so I can't tighten the screws to seal the unit.

Does anybody know where I might get a replacement front cover? I tried Raytheon, but they don't seem to have any parts for this old of a unit. Googling didn't get me anywhere either.

The display still works fine, and I'd like to retain the ability to open the case. So I'd prefer to get a new fron cover, instead of just gluing the case closed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dave

I would as someone who deals with plastic repair (such as car bumpors, etc.). He can determine the plastic used for the casing, and repair with melting stick of the plasic into place. Using other plastic or glue would probably not be satisfactory repair.

Maybe, if the crack is not that bad, using not to hot soldering iron or miniature heat-gun you would be able to repair it, without additional repair material.

Dave, if you can't get a replacement try this.

Crazy glue the cracks, as best you can. Then insert a bit of a wood matchstick into the screw hole, crazy glue again, set aside till hardened. You should be able to make a small hole in the middle of the matchstick and the old screw should be able to bite in and reseat firmly.
