need to replace Gaskets in both Hatches on 1981 E32

HI

Has anyone replaced the original hatch gaskets ... My forward
hatch has just started is just time to drip. Its a very specific channel as I started to
search for the replacement s t haul out this past fall.

I just refinished / relayed my floors and also refinished all my inferior teak last spring its something I dont want to have to repeat for a while.

SO I want to really know I can replace the gaskets on the old Hatches without concerns. Oray is it time to invest in two new hatches. ANY SUGGESTIONS

Hey Robbyn - if your hatches are the original Atkins Hoyle type you can order parts from the manufactuer or send the hatcvhes to them for refurbishing. I looked into it and decided it would be better to buy new ones - I bought a pair of the Lewmar Ocean 60 hatches on sale from Hodges Marine for about $225 each.

Good luck!

Boy - I am not sure what kind of hatches they are.. No real marking on them
they look like old iron lol - but we both have 1981 they can't be too different I would imagine - almost twins!~

The glass has started to after many years to look a bit scrathed, so I suppose $500.00 investment would be worth it! But I have been really wanting to change the ports first!

I will have to take a picture when I go check on the boat this weekend.

I'm not sure what size, but i am sure I would guess wrong if tried to guess! The best way to do it is to measure it to be sure. Did you try talking to the Atkins Hoyle customer service folks? They were helpful to me when I was trying to decide whether to refurbish my old ports or buy new.......

I think it is 5/8 but the gasket is so old and deformed and its glued
in so tight when I get to the track it crumbles but leaves must of it in it
making impossible to gage.

I wrote the company and gave them Boat length and year...
I shall see

By the way, in case you haven't already found it, here's a link to Roger Long's website that has lots of details about the work he's done on his Endeavour over the years. Roger is a naval architect and has done some awesome upgrades / modifications / etc. Every time I browse the site my to-do list grows!

Good luck with the hatches.
