Question E32 prop shaft sizes-dimentions

Hi there.

Need to change the prop shaft of my 1980 E32.
Does anybody knows the sizes-dimentions , of the prop shaft of E32 ???
Im in Panama and there is no boat yard around, dont like the idea of remove the shaft under water... Thats why i need de dimentions.
I have been looking for it on google but no luck...
We will move the boat for another city where i can haul out the boat when have the new shaft in hands
I have a universal atomic 5424 on my boat.
Thanks.

Luis Fabiano.

Luis,
Welcome. I'm pretty sure your shaft will be 1" with the Universal 5424 engine - so called "Atomic diesel". One way to confirm this is to get below the cockpit with a caliper & measure the tiny bit of shaft that is evident.

Question Re: E32 prop shaft sizes-dimentions

Hi folks.
Yes, is 1' diameter...
Is the 1' on E32' prop shaft standard?
I have doubts about the shaft length and safety key...
Thanks.

Re: E32 prop shaft sizes-dimentions

Luis,
I think prop shaft diameter is mostly related to which engine was installed in your boat.
A 1" shaft is fairly standard for this size boat; my 27' boat has a 1" shaft too.

The shaft length on your E32' is pretty short, if I recall correctly. Probably around 2' long. If your prop hasn't fallen off, or your shaft has not pulled out of the boat what is there to question?

The prop shaft on my 1981 E 32 is 1" dia also. We just repowered last season with a Beta Marine B25 diesel, no problems with the shaft dia.
