new to anchoring in the Mystic area

while we have picked up moorings and staying at various yacht clubs from Noank to Newport, we plan to start anchoring more, for cost, and we finally picked up a new dingy motor.

I have seen posts about anchoring behind Rams island in Noank, if you belong to a club. We are members of Mt. Siani Yacht club. Does this count for anything? Where are some good anchoring spots? Open to many suggestions.

There is an anchorage N of the Mystic Seaport. If you want to anchor in Noank simply anchor east of the mooring field. There is a town dock N of Fords Lobster. Walk to food ice cream, liquor and grocery stores.

You can anchor behind Ram Island too. Not as protected in bad weather but fine on a nice night. Private island with no shore access.
