Endeavour 42 CC

My husband and I looked at a very clean and well kitted out 88 42 CC today which is in the Toronto, CANADA area. It has always been in fresh water and has the original tanks (which we know to be a source of concern for folks). The current owner has had the boat for some time and has installed "dams" intended to divert water from the tanks, ostensibly to address the concern about aging tanks. We are looking to move up from our 88 CS 36 Merlin and want something roomy yet sea-kindly. We were very impressed with what we say today but are spending the weekend doing additional research before contemplating an offer. Any words of advice?

Sincerely,
Lisa

Sumner, thanks for the link to website. I think we'd spring for the local E42 if not for the minor annoyance of owning 2 boats. Hoping to sell ours soon. Thanks again!

Re: Endeavour 42 CC

I rode an E42 CC up from Norfolk this past summer in 40kt winds, 8 foot rollers. It inspired me to think again about my medium weight catamaran - enough so that I jumped ship to a Irwin 38 CC.

Re: Endeavour 42 CC

Hey Chuckles. Thanks for sharing your story. I am new to sailing but committed to overcome my fears. Your experience with 40kt winds and 8' rollers make me cringe but are reassuring in terms of this boat's ability to withstand those conditions. Lake Ontario can get very snotty and there have been a few times when a perfectly benign trip across the lake for the weekend has become scary. To be clear, we don't set out out to challenge Mother Nature but if you find yourself in it having a boat that can withstand these conditions can make the difference between an enjoyable or frightening experience. Thanks again!

Re: Endeavour 42 CC

Nope. Had a good look on Sunday and she's really tired for the money. Too bad really as we really like the layout and overall features of the boat. So the search continues.....
