RIB on 32' davits

We have a 1986 Ericson 32, equipped with davits; boat beam is 10' 6", transom is 80". We are looking at RIBs. How long is reasonable to hang from the davits?
We're looking at a Walker Bay, 8' 10".
Any input appreciated.

Doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I have heard good things about that dinghy as well
