I have sailed 2 different Ericson 27s, one
wheel, and one tiller. I thought they were great boats and sailed well up here in SF Bay when the wind was at 10 or above. Kinda sailed like pigs in light wind. Both had wicked prop walk, and required a spring
line, or at least to **** the stern to starboard, bow to port, to back up out of the slip. One good thing is if you can back up an E-27, other boats seem like a piece of cake, at least in my limited experience.
When I took my ASA 103 class, we used those to practice docking undersail because they are built like tanks.
