Good Morning; We have an E29 here in KS. Hoping to move it to Charlotte Harbor. I too did a re-wire last year and put the new panel in same place you have it. Did you have any concerns with having the back of the panel in the same place as the gas tank? Where is your shore power panel? What engine do you have? Have you done any off shore passages?

I bought an Ericson 29 in January and I love it . I looked long and hard before I found the boat I wanted . I had a boat that was too small and one that was too large -- this one is just right !

Ericson 39: rusted steel under floor??

6/23/11 I'm thinking about buying an a 1971 Ericson 39. The boat that I am looking at has some rusted steel cross members under the cabin floor located about 3 feet forward of the mast step. It looks like it is a floor support but no one, no one, would use 3/4" thick steel plate to support a fiberglass floor.

Is the 3/4" steel assenbly a necessary part of the boat's structure???

Please reply if you have information or if you can point me at someone who may know if the boats structure is sound.

Thank You,

Jerry
