Question Charter out of Ft Myers (Itinerary)

Looking to cruise out of Fort Myers next September (2016) with a group that has been buddies for 40 years. Would like to have suggestions and any information about routes, places, restaurants, etc. I am a little familiar with the area as I got my certification w/SWFY's years ago. Spend most of my time on the other coast though. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks for your consideration

Re: Charter out of Ft Myers (Itinerary)

Are you chartering through SWFY? IMHO their selection of yachts is somewhat limited... and some them are, um, "dated." Just be sure that you know which boat you are getting.

That said, you will probably make your way to Ft Myers Beach (Estero Island) for the first night. Bonita Bills and Doc Fords, which are on San Carlos Island would be an easy place to stop. Then you need to decide whether you are going to head north or south...

I STRONGLY suggest that you check with ActiveCaptain, or Waterway Guide (I prefer the former, Smack prefers the latter) for possible destinations and rout planning.
