Longboat Key anchorage

Has anyone anchored East of the Sister Keys just South of Longboat pass and the Longboat anchorage at Moore's? We're very familiar with the usual anchorage West of Jewfish, but someone mentioned to us turning East at the ICW 40 marker and going up behind Sister Keys. It looks skinny but doable on the charts.

Yes, we anchor there all the time when heading south. Its a great stopping point to grab a nice dinner before heading outside to Pelican Bay. As you exit off the ICW, keep close to the island (30 yds or so) until you can make your turn into the anchorage. Be cautious of the shoal in the very middle exactly between Moores and MarVista. I have not tried to exit the anchorage directly to the pass as it looks to shallow, so I backtrack the way I came in and catch the pass via the long way around.

Ah, just read your post a little closer. EAST of Sister Keys???? No way!! My charts are showing 3-4 in most areas with some 8 ft holes in places. Better check your Tow Boat US membership status before trying that one!
