Laptops at Sea

Will a good quality laptop really hack it in a marine environment?

Jim Sexton responds:

Yes, almost all desktop or laptop computers can handle the marine environment if they aren’t exposed to direct contact with water or rain. Spraying the interior electronic components with CorresionX will provide further protection. Most laptops operate at high temperatures that keep moisture from forming. When the laptop isn't being used, it should be stored in a waterproof container while on board. A large Tupperware container should do the trick.
