The other is my reflection. All would be fine if I was looking for some abstract artist look, but that's not what I'm going for. ;-)

Again, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Get a piece of glass and set it at about 70 degree from the vertical. Roll and tip and see if the brush strokes disappear, if not add more thinner, if it sags and runs add more paint.

Wipe the paint off the glass with thinners let it flash off and try again. This worked for me with International 2 pack and the finish was near a perfect spray job.

Use a quality foam brush from Lowes. Do not cheap out on the foam. I switched to foam for my second coat and the finish was much better. This fall I will sand out the remaining brush strokes and re-do with only foam.

It takes 2 people to roll & tip so if you're trying to do this alone....

It really does not matter that much what you tip the paint with as the most important thing tipping does is pop air bubbles from the roller

The roller really DOES matter as its job is to lay down and even film of paint and understanding how much paint you can load on it and how far that goes is the KEY

You must tip ONE TIME AND FAST then you must leave it alone to do its thing and roll the next section ASAP before you lose the window to tip the joint between sections

AS TAQ explained the paint viscosity and the drying time the thinner provides must be at the point the paint can self level

Thanks for the offer, Bob. My wife has been helping, and we put the final coats on over the past couple of days. It came out acceptable, but not what I expected. Of course, my expectations are very high. In the water it will look great, I believe.

I would gladly assist you with your boat when you get around to refinishing it. My schedule is very flexible. Just drop me a line.

I painted my hull with petit easypoxy and had GREAT result. The key was the between coat sanding. Did 5 coats and sanded between coats with progressively finer sand paper and between the 4th and 5th coat I used a scotchbrite pad. I'm probably telling you something you already know....

Well might as well jump in here...Im doing the same job on decks cockpit and cabin with System Three Ws LPU which is a water based poly finish. It likes humidity but not wind or high temps. I wont even try it over 80 or if the surface has been cooking in the sun for most of the day. Strictly mornings or overcast days. The suggestions on thinning are right on but watch how you wet the tipping brush....pure thinner or pure water principle and effects the same...dilution is the idea but not too much or you have a problem again.
doesnt hurt to have a small bit thinned in a covered container for the tipping brush and to remind you of the approx "viscosity" or your working liquid prior to any exposure. Petro or water both are remarkably volatile in these conditions of wind or heat.

Anyway mines beginning to look good at 10 ft...just wet sanded with 320 for the next campaign!!! Good luck all!
