I've been using "mini rocker switch" as a google search item and having only minimal luck. I try local hobby shops and see what I can find. Radio Shack's switches were too big...

Re: Interior Lighting Upgrades

Hey, just checked e-bay, electronics, 'mico switches', and they had some that might work? .02

Re: Interior Lighting Upgrades

AirborneSF, can you post a link? The only rocker switches I"m seeing on Ebay are .5" or larger. Hubby and I remeasured and ideally .45" finished width or less is what we need.

We went ahead and replaced one of the bulbs/lenses just to get a sense of the difference - I think we're really going to like the new lights. Look how much brighter!

The rope light style LEDs were a bit green but I used correction gel for motion picture lighting to remove the green.

good price 3 years ago, not sure what's up today
I saw your post, emailed him and had a reply within 2 hours. I need to open up my nav lights to see what bulbs I need for them and then I will give him my order.

Very easy guy to deal with.

Easy payment options. Cheques or Cdn Banks online Interact email payment.

Re: Interior Lighting Upgrades

I can tell you that an awesome source for switches and absolutely everything electronic is Mouser Electronics. I think they stock something like 300+ different type of switches. Comprehensive specifications etc. plus they sell onesy twosies of an item. Now the catalog online is massive but it can be navigated. Their paper catalog is almost 3 inches thick. I install and diagnose aircraft avionics and systems. I buy many of my switches from Mouser among other suppliers.
Something you might consider is using a toggle switch or mini-toggle switch. 3 position switch would get you on, off, red. Some of the switches Mouser has are low cost and some are good enough for spacecraft with prices commensurate. They state whether the part is mil-spec. You could buy an environmentally rated switch which is sealed from outside air and would never have corroded contacts again. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help out...

Thanks! Mouser came up repeated in my searches. I've been thinking about the on-off-red option. That would require sourcing red LEDs (not a biggie) which is also on the list. I'll PM you with questions as they come up.

Typical boat project. A simple "change to LED lights" has mushroomed!
