Casey,

You've speculated twice now that self-impaling is a potential hazard -- do you know of any actual incidents or are you just theorizing?

I've been up and down my mast on these steps dozens of times, and I've never considered that as even a remote risk. The ends are about 1.5" wide x 3/4" thick, and don't come close to having kind of point on them.

Re: Screw on the mast, Mast Steps

I put mast steps on one of my boats. Oops. To each their own, but I'll pass.

Re: Screw on the mast, Mast Steps

OK - I may as well finish what I started. I just purchased a Mast Mate from Gary in Rockland ME.

Thanks for all the great input.

Rik,
Once you've given it a try, will you post a review?
