Garhauer Clutch Problem

One of my 1 year old Garhauer clutches isn't working right. When I flip the lever up and all the way open to release the halyard, the lever doesn't stay all the way free. It pops back up just enough to grab the line. It happened for the first time last night. Not sure what to do about it. I emailed Garhauer but haven't heard back yet. Anybody experienced this with a G clutch?

Re: Garhauer Clutch Problem

Just bought two but haven't installed yet. I would suggest calling Garhauer rather than e-mail. This time of year they are slammed with business but every time I call I get a very helpful response. Very good group of folks there and so far I've had great success with their product.

Foggy...I just called them and you were right. Answered on first ring, transferred me to Bill (German Accent) and he answered on first ring. He said to tighten the fastner (bolt or screw...not sure) that runs through the pivot point of the lever. Bill said it is a commonly needed adjustment. So...this should be an easy fix.

Re: Garhauer Clutch Problem

Great to know. Thanks for posting. I just replace both of my triples this spring with Garhauers and have been happy with their performance. They seem indestructible and are easy on the lines also
